General Questions

What is mediation?

Mediation is a voluntary process where a neutral third party helps individuals discuss concerns, improve communication, and work toward mutually acceptable solutions. The mediator does not make decisions for the parties or take sides.


Is mediation confidential?

Mediation discussions are generally intended to remain confidential except where disclosure is required by law, including mandatory reporting obligations, safety concerns, threats of harm, abuse disclosures, or court order.


Are you an attorney?

No. The R.E.E.F. LLC does not provide legal advice, legal representation, or legal strategy. Services are neutral and organizational in nature only.


Can I still speak with an attorney?

Yes. Parties are encouraged to seek independent legal advice whenever desired.


Do you provide court-appointed mediation?

At this time, The R.E.E.F. LLC provides private mediation services only unless otherwise specifically stated in writing.


Do you guarantee agreements or court approval?

No. Mediation and organizational services do not guarantee agreements, settlements, court approval, or specific legal outcomes.

What types of mediation do you offer?

Can mediation be virtual?

Yes. Sessions may be conducted virtually, by phone, or in person when appropriate.


Does the mediator decide who is right?

No. The mediator remains neutral and does not decide outcomes, determine custody, or force agreements.


Do both parties have to agree to mediation?

Generally, mediation works best when all participating parties are willing to participate voluntarily and respectfully.


What happens if mediation is unsuccessful?

Parties may choose to continue discussions later, seek legal advice, pursue court proceedings, or explore other options available to them.

Are these legal services?

No. Organizational services are informational and organizational only and are not legal services.


Can you prepare legal documents for court?

The R.E.E.F. LLC may assist with organization and formatting of information but does not provide legal representation, legal drafting, or legal advice.


Can you help organize my exhibits and communication records?

Yes. Services may include organization of timelines, communications, exhibits, records, and supporting documentation into a more structured format.

Neutrality & Conflict Questions

Can you both help prepare documents and mediate the same case?

No. To maintain neutrality and avoid conflicts of interest, if The R.E.E.F. LLC provides individualized support services to one party, The R.E.E.F. LLC will be unable to later serve as the neutral mediator for that same dispute or matter.

Fees & Scheduling Questions

Do you offer consultations?

Yes. The R.E.E.F. LLC offers one free consultation up to 15 minutes maximum for organizational support services.

Refunds are not guaranteed and may depend on preparation completed, scheduling time reserved, work already performed, and other service-related factors.

Policies & Participation Questions

Can services be terminated?

Yes. The R.E.E.F. LLC reserves the right to pause, refuse, cancel, or terminate services for policy violations, safety concerns, nonpayment, inappropriate conduct, conflicts of interest, or other circumstances interfering with professional services.


Can children attend mediation sessions?

Generally, children should not be present during mediation sessions unless specifically approved in advance.


Can sessions be recorded?

Recording mediation sessions is prohibited unless all parties and the mediator provide written consent.
